I have always had a thing for MAC’s limited edition multicoloured shimmery face powders. On a complete whim, I saw the MAC Electric Wonder Iridescent Powder in Serenity Seeker ($40 CDN/ 0.22 ounces) and picked it up from the Sephora VIB Sale. The powder itself is smooth and sheen-y with some visible shimmer particles that honestly don’t really transfer onto the cheeks. The powder itself is a pinky coral with a hefty amount of antiqued gold veining throughout. As a result, the colour that deposits is a sheeny light bronze with a hint of rose gold thrown in. On my fairer skin, it ends up reading like a bronzy hued blush. However, I’m sure it would be a nice highlighter on medium and deeper folks that isn’t too dramatic. Also, if a sheeny bronzer is your thing, I think it could be used as a bronzer. What I like about the product is that I can throw it on my cheeks without thinking about it on an everyday basis and find myself looking a little less pale and a bit more radiant and awake. It doesn’t require any thinking or much care, or additional cheek products.
Did I mention that it’s part of one of those limited edition MAC collections? The packaging is a pretty marble design but I think the product stands up on its own that the packaging is merely a nice bonus. The product has nice buildable pigmentation, a smooth but not powdery texture and good ten hour longevity or so without significant fading. If I zoom in on my face, it may highlight texture ever-so-slightly but let me tell you, it’s to much less of a degree than most highlighter-blush hybrids on the market.
